New Leaf places a strong value on healthy and organic options so it is important that birthday treats also reflect this. Bringing in a Birthday Treat is completely optional. We do need to be made aware at least a week in advanced and snacks must meet the following criteria.

This is an overview of the curriculum covered in each grade at New Leaf Prep Academy.

Much like our individualized approach to academics we feel it is important to address student concerns and curiosities individually. We seek to create a space where children feel they are safe to ask questions and their teachers will assist them in discovering answers when they have concerns. Frequently this includes bringing parents into the discussion. New Leaf Prep Academy will follow a curriculum cohesive with the State Standards. When controversial topics naturally arise that are outside of our curriculum, teachers will defer student concerns to address them individually rather than discussing the topic with, or in front of, other students. In anticipation of some potentially controversial topics, the following policies have been established.

Our Discipline Matrix is to ensure that our school has a safe and orderly environment in which learning is not jeopardized by disruptions. Each teacher will provide students with a clear set of classroom rules and expectations and will administer consequences for minor offenses within the classroom.

Dress up days are optional but serve as a fun way to show school spirit and engage with peers. Please note that students do not need to follow dress code on these days but modesty dress code requirements are still to be met.

School Snacks are served on a 4-week rotation with a focus on fresh organic options and nutritional education!

All school volunteers are expected to abide by reasonable procedures that have been established to ensure their work is cohesive with our school vision and mission. A signed Volunteer Handbook must be on file in addition to demonstrating proof of identity to enable NLPA to run a background check.
